Wanna here a great compliment? How about Beth and her family came all the way from Spartanburg which is two hours away just for me to take their pictures. When she told me that, I smiled from ear to ear and felt so proud that they chose me out of so many different photographers to take their family photos. Of course we went to one of my absolute favorite locations and instead of your typical posed pictures we did something different. I showed them all around the location and just let their beautiful daughter explore and get familiar with her surroundings. As we all scoped out the place I was steady taking pictures of them as a family and I think they are some of my best work yet.

Thank you Beth for taking time out of your busy weekend to drive all the way to Columbia and choosing me to take pictures of you family - It means a lot and I look forward to working with you again in the future! Merry Christmas!

I went to school with Rebecca and haven't seen her since I graduated in 99 so when she contacted me to do pictures of her daughter and herself I jumped at the opportunity. They are so much fun to be around and the love they share is one of a kind and it shows throughout their pictures. I picked out a few of my favorites to display because they simply melt my heart.

Sorry I have been away so long.. My picture business has taken off and has not slowed down for one second. Each weekend is full of beautiful families that I get to meet and capture moments that they will remember for a lifetime. Although I feel overwhelmed at times between working full time, two toddlers and somewhat of a life.. I wouldn't change anything about it. I love what I do and getting paid to make people smile is just the icing on the cake. I have a good bit to upload so I'll start off where I last ended.

The Riddle family asked that I do a large family photo of them for a Christmas present as well as split them up into groups and do some mini sessions. They picked out a beautiful location and I think the pictures turned out great! I'm looking forward to doing pictures with them again when the weather warms up.

Pre-School Days!

A close friend of mine referred me to do a set of fall pre-school pictures at a local Baptist Church. I have never even come close to doing a session like this that included props so I had to do a little bit of research for a fall themed idea. I went to our local country feed and seed store and picked up a bale of hay, two mums and a pumpkin. Added a few more touches to it and came up with a pretty cute little set up that worked out great. After we finished up with the fall look we headed outside for recess and I felt more in my own element when I was able to do candid shots of the children doing what they do best which was playing.

I'm sure you'll recognize one of the little cuties below. I recently took pictures for his first birthday and then the following weekend we got together again with his Mommy's family for a big shoot of him and all his cousins. It's a surprise so no tagging was allowed until after Christmas on facebook because their Granny is super sneaky and will see them. Isn't that funny? Hey, I know what they mean.. Half our family is on facebook so I have to watch what I say and upload or else I might get my hand popped by a relative as well.

It was first weekend that it actually felt like fall and it was sooooo chilly! The kids were so behaved and did excellent with trying their best to sit still as long as they could until we moved to the next spot. We gave them a break and let them play so they could warm back up then we split them up in groups with their parents and what not to do some more personal pictures. I think they turned out great and would love to see the look on their Granny's face when she opens these pictures up on Christmas day. SURPRISE! :)

Oh, One more thing.. Thanks so much to the gentlemen that pumped up my tire that was going flat... I have the best clients in the world!

Now this was a FUN photoshoot because it was all for Brit at his FIRST birthday party. So relaxed and full of running youngins at a gymnastics studio. I was so temped to jump up on the floor length trampoline but I managed to control myself and know that I was there to do a job and not play! Ha! The parents were able to mingle, slide on the ginourmous slide and get up close and personal with the birthday boy without having to worry about taking one single picture. I handled all that for them and boy did they LOVE IT and of course so did I. Enjoy!

Sweet Child Of Mine

Here is some pictures I did last weekend of my best friend Paige's sister and her daughter H. I had soooo many favorites from this session!!! I loved all her outfits, the backdrops and locations that we used. She looked amazing, their hair and outfits were perfect, and my Paige even did a great job (My future assistant!). I can't wait to meet little Joshua...he is going to be beautiful just like his big sister!!!

See why I'm too smiley? - I mean just look at these two beautiful twin girls that stole my heart from the moment go. Emma and her identical twin sister Ava were so much fun to work with and I learned that as soon as the sweet tarts were shown and then the bubbles just topped it off. Twin girls = admiration and lots of 'how do you do it, that's for sure! So happy to have had this opportunity to run after two little girls that just liked being kids and wanting to play!

I had the pleasure of doing my first large family group session and I must say they were so much fun to work with. I dragged my sister with me and they had us both laughing the entire time which made it a great session all around. Once we broke off into small groups the kids stole the show with their beautiful smiles and quirky little personalities. I'm looking forward to hopefully working with them again in the future. Fabulous 40th!

I was recently contacted by a very popular photographer about doing one of her jobs since she would be out of town.. After I pinched myself to make sure I wasn't dreaming because she actually called lil ol' me.. I proudly accepted before she could even finish telling me about it. Before her and I even got off the phone she even asked me to take her family portraits... what? ME?? Um.. Ok.. So, be on the look out for that in the next month. :)

Anywho - This session was like no other I have done before because it was a 40th birthday party at a country club. I arrived and they instantly made me feel like apart of the family and for the next two hours I mingled with all the guests. Danced and took some great pictures of her fun night with family and friends that she will always be able to look back on and smile at.

Thank you Stacey for thinking of me and giving me such a great opportunity and also to Shannon for a FUN night celebrating your fabulous 40th with you and your entourage! You don't look a day over 25 and I really think it should be illegal to look at good right after having a kid. Muah! :)

One thing I have grown to LOVE about doing photography is seeing people you haven't seen in FOREVER! One of those people happen to be a friend of mine that I was very close too in high school and a few years after. The phone rang on a Monday evening and there was no way I could turn her down.. two days later after the kids went to bed.. I ran out and met her to do a quick and easy bridal shoot that one ended up being in the state paper for her announcement. Of course I clipped it out and put it on the fridge like a little kid (showing off my work). A was so much fun to work with and she even busted out the cowgirl boots during the shoot which I fell in LOVE with and is a must on my Christmas list now. Congratulations Mr and Mrs. Case! You are a beautiful pair and I'm truly sorry we couldn't make it to your wedding.. I was in the middle of shooting another one but I did think of you all day long. Best wishes to you both! Muah.

A old friend contacted me a few months ago and asked if I would be the photographer of his wedding.. GULP! What... Wedding?!?!?! I explained to him I have never done a wedding and would be nervous about even attempting to do his. He said it was a small, laid back, southern wedding and I could just do what I felt most comfortable with. OK... So, I did it. I arrived a hour before the wedding and did my best to get as many shots of the bride getting ready as I could.. enjoy.

My little brother turned 2 last week so after his birthday party Saturday my step-mom asked that I take some updated family pictures. I thought they should not only because the kids are getting older by the minute but she has lost a lot of weight and girlfriend has it goin on! They all wore my favorite colors (Go Gamecocks) and we headed to the USC Horseshoe. Poor Zack fell asleep in the car on the way there and he was fit to be tied once we arrived and he was woken up. Needless to say he did not like the camera all up in his face. We did what we could do and at the end of the session I thought we got some great shots. Enjoy! :)

What a fun and creative shoot this was. H brought all sorts of props for pictures and I was just blown away by her creativeness. I mean the girl paints murals and decorates like it's nobodys business so I should have known she would have some neat ideas up her sleeve. Sure enough she pulls out chairs, costumes, books and TWO baby squirrels that her husband rescued and they are currently bottle feeding. I was soooo excited to see how it would all turn out and boy did it. Just see for yourself! :)

To tell you the truth, I had such a hard time picking out MY absolute favorites because there were so many. YAY! I am so excited to reveal my photography blog to you guys and share a bunch of sessions that I have been working on lately. God has seriously blessed me when it comes to my side business because it has really taken off and added extra income to our family. A HUGE thank you goes out to my friends and family for being so supportive and encouraging. My husband for taking time out of his deer hunting schedule to watch the kids so I can go to appointments. Jamie for being such a great friend, client and blogger and surprising me by creating my photography blog. Were going to add a few more features but I'm like a kid at Christmas time.. I just couldn't wait.. I had to show ya what she came up with so far.

What to Expect

I like to keep things fun and simple, which is why I only use available natural light. I feel that it's also just more flattering. For each session, I also aim to create a very fun, stress-free environment for the children and for the parents.

Children do much better when nothing is forced and they can be themselves, and since they like to explore and take it all in, I work around them to capture the personalities more so than the surroundings.

I shoot strictly on location, so any special places you have in mind will do, or if you prefer the comforts of your own home, just make sure there is enough available light.

What to wear:

Again, think simple. This will make a difference in your prints. Color is great, jeans are great, and simple is great. No logos, characters or multi-patterned attire. Leave all the fancy, dress-up clothes at home.

I recommend to my clients that they bring a multi-change of clothes (hey, bring a suitcase if you like). As for newborns, they are best in their birthday suits, blankets or very soft simple attire.

What I will do is edit each of your images three different ways from Color, Black&White and the third style of editing is what I think fits that particular picture the best. I transfer all images onto a disk for you to develop when and where you choose at your own convenience. **
